Life's Distractions

My buddy Myron Golden (Okay, so he has no clue I even exist but he is my you-tube buddy...hahaha) says that "disruption always follows intention". Meaning that anytime you start doing something to improve your life whether in your work or personal life something will always happen to try to knock you out of the game. He uses biblical examples of this like when Jesus was baptized and God speaks from heaven "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased", immediately after the dove ascended and God spoke Jesus was taken to the wilderness to be tempted by Satan for 40 days.

He gives more examples and if you want to hear it go look him up on you-tube! You will not regret it!

But....Mr. Golden is most definitely on to something here....take this week for example...I have not been strict on my diet for well over a year now. I have TRIED to eat healthy, but have not been on my nutrition plan like I should have been.

Talk about life knocking you down, I was killing my fitness goals at 142 and developing muscles I've never seen on me even as a very lean child.

Then in March of 2024 my daddy died of pancreatic cancer. Talk about life smacking you in the face. I went through every single negative emotion. For months I felt like someone was repeatedly punching me in the stomach from the inside out. I was angry, I was angry with God. I have been a Christian my whole life but I was so angry with God because He didn't heal my daddy and give us the miracle we had been praying for, it wasn't fair....or was it? (That is a conversation for another day). I was angry, sad, extremely depressed, I did not care about my diet in the slightest. I stayed in the gym most days that I could power through a workout because I knew mentally and physically I needed it.

I finally slowly started moving from this state to where now I feel like I have my life back only to find I have gained 20 lbs and those muscles? They are weak again...so back to ground 0.

This week....The first week of Feb 2026 I buckled down on my diet (I have been consistent in the gym so that wasn't an issues), I kid you not....my kid wakes up Tuesday morning complaining of being lightheaded and a headache, no fever, no sick to stomach, I made him to go school...I know...horrible mom making the baby go to school when he doesn't feel great...well...he also plays me sometimes too.

Wednesday morning, the same thing only he wanted to go to his Brazilian Ju Jitsu class on Wed evening and if he doesn't go to school then no BJJ.

We get home from BJJ Wednesday evening and he now has a sore throat.

Here we go to the clinic Thursday morning and sure enough STREP THROAT!

Guess who doesn't get to go to the gym now on Thursday and Friday? That's right...me....all of my good intentions for the week have now turned into 3 days.

I still followed my nutrition plan though but still..."disruption will always follow intention". I have seen that while building my business and brand and in my personal life.

I didn't see it so much when I was teaching...and why do you supposed that is? Well, again thank to my you-tube bestie Myron Golden, I have a theory that I have learned from him...maybe just maybe its because teaching was not my God called assignment and I wasn't threatening the enemy. I was stagnant, I wasn't positioning myself to a place that I would be totally dependent upon God, seeking His Kingdom and trusting 1000% in His plan.

See, to really know what it means for "Thy Kingdom come" into my life, be ruler over me and make me ruler over my assignment means stepping out of what is comfortable and into a very real and scary place.

Thanks Myron for all of your wisdom and following your God called assignment because even though you don't have any idea of my existence you have changed my mindset on how I view God and His Kingdom, how I view business and wealth, and how I don't have to hustle and grind but just let God do what He does best and be God in my life!

What it looks like to "let go, let God"

I have often wondered how to apply the verses and thoughts around "don't worry about anything but give it God", "just let go and let God". These things sound great and often times I have prayed and p
